Joseph James DeAngelo was a voyeur, serial killer and rapist in the 1970s and 1980s. He was known as the Golden State Killer, the East Area Rapist, the Visalia Ransacker and the Diamond Knot Killer. Joe DeAngelo was also nicknamed the EAR-ONS, an acronym for East Area Rapist-Original Night Stalker. DeAngelo was responsible for at least 120 burglaries, 51 rapes and 13 murders before familial DNA solved this case in 2018.
